Dental Resolution No. 7: Regular Dental Appointments

Dental Resolutions

It’s important to visit your dentist regularly to have your teeth, gums and mouth examined: that’s why we’re recommending that in 2017 you resolve to attend regular dental appointments.

Preventing dental disease now is much better than having to treat it later: it’s generally less expensive and time consuming to stop dental disease from developing at all, or to treat dental disease in its earliest stages.

It is during a routine dental checkup that your dentist will (among other things) perform an oral cancer screening, check teeth for signs of acid erosion or wear and tear, use x-rays to determine whether cavities are developing in difficult to see places, and suggest effective techniques for keeping the plaque away from your teeth.

Some people only need to attend an appointment once or twice a year: others may need to attend more frequently. It all depends on your dental history and your current dental needs. Your dentist will make a recommendation about how often you should attend.

We look forward to seeing you at one of our three practices sometime in 2017!
