Vitamin D For Teeth
Vitamin D is a nutrient essential for the development of strong bones and healthy skin. Exposure to the sun allows the body to produce this vitamin internally: it can also be ingested as a supplement.
Aside from its benefits to the bones, a recent study shows that Vitamin D may also reduce incidence of tooth decay.
A professor from the University of Washington re-examined results from clinical trials conducted between the 1920s and 1980s involving 2000 children aged 2-16. The study showed that Vitamin D was associated with a reduced incidence of tooth decay among children who had increased levels of Vitamin D.
