New Year celebrations can be a good reason to eat, drink and be merry, and many of us enjoy a glass of bubbly or two to ring in the New Year. However, it’s important to remember how damaging glass of wine can be to your tooth enamel.

Wines can be very acidic and we all know that acid is one of the worst enemy for our teeth!

If you must choose a type of wine, consider avoiding white wine as studies show that it dissolves enamel of teeth quicker than red wine does.

To reduce the impact of acid from wine, alternate glasses of wine with glasses of water. Feel free to enjoy the cheese platter because cheese can neutralise the acids in your mouth. Make sure you brush and floss well before sleeping and even consider chewing some sugarfree gum to neutralise the acidity in your mouth.
