Dentistry For Nervous People

Dentistry For Nervous People

Some people are very nervous about dental treatment. If you’re reading this, chances are that you are one of these nervous, fearful or even dental-phobic people or have a loved one who is.

One of the biggest problems about being fearful about dentistry is that you might be putting off treatment that you really need or even missing out on having a cosmetic dental service that you really want.

You’re in the right place! We have great empathy for nervous people, and we are here to help.

At Corinna Dental, we offer inhalational sedation (Happy Gas) to people who “would rather be anywhere except the dentist”.

Happy Gas

People have lots of names for this stuff- you might have heard it called ‘Laughing Gas’, ‘RA’, or several other things- but simply put, it’s a gas that is used as a sedative in dentistry and medicine.

Some people assume that Happy Gas is only offered to kids- but that’s not the case! Adults of all ages request it because it allows them to feel relaxed (and sometimes a little euphoric) during their dental visits.

The great thing about Happy Gas is that its effects only last during your appointment: it’s turned on at the beginning and turned off at the end. The effects of the sedation wear off quickly, and you can be back to ‘real life’ (including driving) as soon as you leave our office.

We’re here to help

If you are embarrassed about being so fearful of dental treatment, please don’t be! It’s very common, and we’ll never judge you or think poorly of you if you’re nervous or fearful. Quite the opposite- we think it’s great that you are looking for a way to get your needed and wanted dental treatment done, and we look forward to helping you achieve this using Happy Gas.

Your next step is to call us on 6282 2605. Let our friendly reception staff know that you are nervous about having treatment, and tell them which option you think you’d prefer. They will make time for you to consult with one of our friendly Dentists.

You’ll be invited to tell your dentist about your level of dental fear and to ask plenty of questions about your treatment. We can then schedule a treatment appointment for you and get you on the pathway towards good dental health.

We look forward to meeting you soon.
