High Blood Pressure And Oral Health

On 7th April (Sunday), the World Health Organisation observes World Health Day and this year’s theme is focused on high blood pressure.

Raised blood pressure is defined as being a blood pressure reading of 140/90 mmHG or higher. Often without warning signs, high blood pressure can lead to serious problems like heart attack, stroke, heart failure, or kidney disease.

How much do you know about hypertension? You can learn a lot about it by visiting the Australian Heart Foundation’s website:

If you have high blood pressure, or are taking medication as treatment for hypertension, be sure to let your dentist know.
