Healthy Canberra: What’s On In July 2016
Canberra is buzzing with activities in July. As always, we’re rounding up the health-related ones we thought you might be interested in.
Here’s what’s happening in the coming month of July:
1 July: Bravehearts 777 Marathon; Commonwealth Place, Canberra
The Bravehearts 777 features 7 marathons in 7 states in 7 days. Marathon No. 5 happens in Commonwealth Place in Canberra on July 1st. You need not be a participant (though you can start training to join next year!) to join the cause. You can take part in this fundraising activity by being a supporter of child protection and share Bravehearts vision to make Australia the safest place in the world to raise a child.
4-10 July: Sleep Awareness Week
Sleep Awareness Week is an annual community education and awareness campaign to raise awareness of the common sleep disorder, obstructive sleep apnoea or OSA and promotes the importance of sleep as a fundamental pillar of good health.
Visit their website for a wealth of resources.
5 July: Mt Ainslie Run Up; Remembrance Park, Canberra
Held every first Tuesday of the month, the Mt Ainslie Run Up and Power Walk is a 2.2-kilometre run with a 240 metre elevation gain. Are you up for it? No need to register—all you need is to turn up at 12.45pm at Remembrance Park on Treloar Crescent in Campbell, Canberra behind the Australian War Memorial.
