Healthy Canberra: What’s Happening In December 2015

It’s the end of the month, which means it’s time for our roundup of health-related observances in the coming month of December.

We here at Corinna Dental Group not only look after your oral health but we also promote overall wellness. That is why we’d like to raise awareness about health-related activities happening next month, encouraging you to take part and to spread the word in whichever way you can.

Below are the list of observances as we welcome the last month of 2015.

1-31 December: Decembeard

Decembeard is a hair-raising fundraiser held during the month of December. The event encourages men to grow a beard in the final month of the year to raise awareness and much-needed funds for bowel cancer.

1 December: World AIDS Day

Held every 1st of December, World AIDS Day raises awareness across the world and in the community about the issues surrounding HIV and AIDS. Check out their webpage to learn more about the activities happening in observance of this event.

3 December: International Day Of Persons With Disabilities

International Day of People with Disability is an opportunity for the community to make positive changes to the lives of 4 million Australian PWDs. This year’s theme is “Inclusion matters: access and empowerment for people of all abilities”.
