Dental Research: How Your Ability To Chew Might Be Related To Dementia
What does your bite have to do with your cognitive ability?
A group of researchers from Karolinska Institutet in Sweden associated tooth loss with one’s cognitive function in a survey conducted on 557 people aged 77 and above. Their study shows that those “who had difficulty chewing hard food such as apples had significantly higher risk of developing cognitive impairments”.
