Dental Health Week 2019
It’s Dental Health Week 2019! This major national health event is organised by the Australian Dental Association and runs in the first full week of August each year. This year’s DHW runs from Monday August 5 to Sunday August 11.
The aim of the annual campaign is to educate Australians about the importance of maintaining good oral health. This year’s campaign tagline, “How’s Your Oral Health Tracking?”, draws off the ADA’s Oral Health Tracker Report cards. The Tracker is a national report card that sets out oral health improvement targets for all Australians.
This year’s event focuses on the following key messages:
- Brush twice a day with a toothpaste that contains fluoride.
- Clean in between teeth at least once a day by flossing
- Limit sugar intake and eat a healthy, balanced meal
- Visit your dentist regularly for checkups and preventive treatment
