Can Anyone Have Intravenous Sedation Dentistry?
Intravenous sedation dentistry is unfortunately not suitable for everybody.
The two extremes of age— the very young and the very old—are more unpredictable in their responses to the medications that are used to achieve a state of sedation. Special care must be taken with these two groups of people.
Also, patients who have a complicated medical history might not be suitable for Intravenous Sedation Dentistry. A person with complex underlying medical conditions who wishes to have their dentistry done whilst they are sedated is usually best to have their treatment completed in a hospital environment.
